Kevin Lewis 1st April 2011 in "Dentistry" makes the point that it would be very difficult now to tell the difference between an April fool and reality. His support for this argument comes from the CQC and the GDC. I could not agree with him more. The application of the CQC to dental practice has been inept (I am being polite) and the GDC focus on the use of the title "Doctor" when use of this title in the rest of Europe is widespread, and the fact that nothing can be done about dentists with PhDs, at a time when the GDC has had funding difficulties, stretches credibility.
Well done Dr Lewis.
