Tribune meets Shakespeare meets the GDC.

The front page of Dental Tribune is titled "Is something rotten in the state of the GDC?" While this is a clear allusion to Hamlet, it remains to be seen whether future revelations might suggest that Julius Ceasar may have been a better choice. The events that take place in Hamlet may be more relevant to the aftermath, rather than the events leading up to the resignation itself.

The article reveals concerns in the profession that we have been provided with insufficient information and that clarification is required in order to maintain confidence in the GDC. I have already speculated, previously in this blog, on the reasons for resignation (see below). I think ithttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif is time for the GDC to get its act together and publish an expanded statement regarding the resignation on their website, as the first stage of a damage limitation exercise. They then need to come clean on the problems to put an end to speculation. The article states that the GDC could have an interim chair by next week. Lets hope it is a dentist as the GDC urgently needs to shore up confidence.
